Assault cover
Up to R5 000 per person or R10 000 per family for medical treatment of bodily injury
sustained by a violent attack.
Trauma cover
Up to R5 000 per person or R10 000 per family for psychological consultations at
either a public trauma centre or private institution, following a violent attack
or emotionally traumatic experience.
HIV treatment
In the event of a violent assault such as rape, or accidental exposure, such as
a prick from a contaminated needle, you and your immediate family have access to:
• Face-to-face psychiatric consultations.
• An HIV blood test.
If necessary, you will also have access to:
• A 30-day starter pack of anti-retroviral medication.
• A 7-day course of STI medication.
• The morning-after pill to prevent pregnancy.
• Ongoing 24/7 telephonic access to trauma and HIV counselling.
